¡Hola! I’m Viviana — a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, currently living in India, and the person behind I Love Spanish Club. Welcome to my little corner of the internet dedicated to one of the most beautiful languages in the world.
🌎 My Story
I Love Spanish Club was born in 2009 out of a simple but powerful idea: Spanish is more than a language — it’s a gateway to an entire world of culture, connection, and belonging. I wanted to share that world with English speakers everywhere, in a way that was clear, engaging, and actually fun.
Over the years, the site has grown into a full learning resource with grammar guides, vocabulary lessons, cultural stories, travel content, and practice exercises — all designed with one goal in mind: helping you speak Spanish with confidence.
What started as a passion project has become my mission. Every article, every video, every lesson on this site comes from a genuine love for the Spanish language and a deep belief that anyone can learn it — with the right guidance.
🇨🇴 A Colombian in India
Here’s what makes my story a little different: I’m a Colombian woman living in India. Two completely different worlds, two completely different cultures — and that unique perspective shapes everything I do.
Living between cultures has taught me a lot about what it really means to communicate across languages. I know firsthand what it feels like to be the foreigner, to struggle with a new language, to make mistakes and laugh about them. That experience makes me a more empathetic, more effective teacher — and it gives this site a voice that’s real, not textbook.
🌺 Fun fact: Our mascot La Profe Lulo is inspired by the lulo fruit — a tropical fruit native to the Andes that is also grown in India. Just like me, the lulo bridges two worlds. She’s our animated Spanish teacher character who brings grammar and vocabulary to life in a way that’s anything but boring!
👩🏫 My Experience as a Spanish Teacher
Teaching Spanish is not just something I do — it’s something I love. I have been teaching Spanish as a native tutor for years, working with students from all over the world at B1–C2 conversation level. My focus is on real, natural Spanish — the kind you actually hear on the streets of Bogotá, Medellín, Mexico City, and Buenos Aires — not just textbook phrases.
What I focus on in my teaching:
